IPL 2025 postponed for a week amidst Indo-Pak tension, BCCI updated


IPL 2025 Suspended for a Week: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to adjourn the remaining IPL 2025 matches for one week with immediate effect. After widely assessing the situation in consultation with the concerned authorities and stakeholders, further information about the new programs of the tournament and the venue will be given from time to time. The decision was taken by the IPL Governing Council after most of the franchisees expressed their players ‘concerns and proper consultation with all the major stakeholders after expressing their players’ concerns and broadcasters, sponsors and fans, while the BCCI believes the strength and preparations of our armed forces, the board thought it appropriate to work in the collective interest of all the stakeholders.

At this critical point, the BCCI stands firmly with the nation. We express our solidarity with the Government of India, armed forces and the people of our country. The board salutes the bravery, courage and selfless service of our armed forces, whose heroic efforts under the operation vermilion protect and inspire the nation, as they strongly respond to the recent terrorist attacks and the unfair attack by Pakistan’s armed forces.

While cricket remains a national passion, there is nothing more than the nation and its sovereignty, integrity and security of our country. BCCI is strongly committed to supporting all efforts that protect India and will always maintain its decisions in the best interest of the nation.

58 matches of league phase have been completed

By the time the tournament is stopped, 58 matches of the IPL 2025 league phase have been completed. However, 12 matches are still left. After the end of the league phase, the playoffs will start. Where the top-4 teams will participate in the league stage.
