The Israeli army claimed to enter Gaza Strip on Sunday. He said that he has surrounded the oil al-Sultan area in the south of Rafah. According to the Israeli defense forces (IDF), the soldiers killed several terrorists after surrounded the area overnight and attacked Hamas’s command and control center.

The army said that the purpose of this campaign is to expand the security sector in Southern Gaza and destroy the terrorist structure. The IDF spokesman said that the army also campaigned in the weekend in the Bet Hanoun area of ​​North Gaza, where fighter jets attacked Hamas’ bases and terrorist infrastructure. Gaza health officials said that in the last 24 hours, 41 bodies and 61 injured persons were brought to hospitals, causing the total death to be 50,021.

The Israeli attacks have effectively eliminated a two -month ceasefire. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the main objective of the military campaign is to destroy Hamas and ensure the release of other hostages.

According to Gaza -based health officials, 673 people have been killed and 1,233 have been injured since the new wave of Israeli airstrikes started on 18 March. A total of 113,274 people have been injured in Gaza since the introduction of the conflict in October 2023.
