Indigo has issued a statement apologizing for the inconvenience. Flight number 6E17 was to depart for Istanbul at 6:55 am. IndiGo issued a statement saying, ‘We regret that our flight 6E17, which was originally scheduled to operate from Mumbai to Istanbul. Delayed due to technical problems. Despite our efforts to fix the problem and direct the plane to its destination, we ultimately had to cancel the flight.
The airline issued a statement saying, ‘An alternative flight has been arranged and will now depart at 23:00. We want to assure our passengers that their safety is our top priority.
Sources said the flight was delayed at least three times. Passengers were asked to board and deboard the plane. But later they were not informed about the final departure time of the plane.
Sources said that many passengers protested at the airport. Also demanded that the airline either issue a refund or arrange for an alternative flight.
