The rescue operation of Pakistan’s Jafar Express train has been completed. The Pak Army rescued 346 hostages. In this operation, which lasted for more than 24 hours, 33 Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) fighters who had hijacked the train. Pakistan Army spokesman Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif told the TV channel ‘Duniya News’ that security forces killed all 33 rebels at the scene. Lieutenant General Sharif said, “The armed forces killed all the terrorists and successfully completed the campaign in the evening today (Wednesday) by rescuing all the passengers.” He said that on Tuesday, the rebels killed 21 passengers by attacking the train. Four paramilitary personnel were also killed in this incident.
In Balochistan, the rebels captured the Jafar Express train and killed four jawans and four paramilitary forces held hostage. Police officials said that in nine coaches, about 400 passengers were going to the Jafar Express train from Quetta to Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, when the rebels used explosives to baptist and capture the train.
