When this bill has reached close to passing, the opposition parties have said not to let it be implemented and have announced to continue the protest. Reacting to this, Jagdambika Pal said, “There is democracy in India, where the right to make laws is with the public representatives elected by the people. The government had a majority and could have passed this bill directly in Parliament, but Parliamentary Affairs Minister Minority Minister Kiran Rijiju sent it to the Joint Parliamentary Committee so that the opinion of all parties could be taken and a balanced law can be made.
