Nicholas Puran and Mitchell Marsh scored a brilliant half -century for the Lucknow Super Giants to chase the target and won the visiting team by five wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Thakur, who was involved in LSG in place of Mohsin Khan, completed 100 IPL wickets. He took the wickets of Abhishek Sharma (6), Ishaan Kishan (0) as well as Abhinav Manohar (2) and Mohammed Shami (1). He took 4 wickets for 34 runs. He was also adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant performance.
Williamson shared his views on Thakur’s performance, saying that Shardul is an experienced international player and it is not an easy task to start bowling against SRH in Hyderabad. But he came with a concrete plan, coordinated with the team’s strategy and carried out it brilliantly. He bowled with diversity and tried to dismiss the batsmen. For such special performance, it was completely appropriate to get the title of man of the match.
