India’s big win over South Korea by 157 points in Kho-Kho World Cup
Kho Kho World Cup 2025: The Indian women’s team completely dominated South Korea and won 175-18 in its opening match of the Kho-Kho World Cup here on Tuesday. Korea had no answer to the ‘dream run’ and defensive strategy of the Indian team. Chaitra B, Meeru and captain Priyanka Ingle created the atmosphere for India with consecutive ‘dream runs’, due to which both the initial batches of the team scored one point each.
This strategic start helped the team reduce the impact of Korea’s 10 touch-points. After this, the Indian trio of Nasreen Shaikh, Priyanka and Reshma Rathore, with excellent aggressive play, all out Korea in 90 seconds. After 18 seconds, the team all out Korea for the second time and took a lead of 22 points in the match.
Reshma scored six touch-points while Meenu scored 12 points from ‘dives’. After the first two turns (14 minutes), the Indian team almost took the match out of Korea’s grip with a lead of 94-10.
The team maintained this pace in the third and fourth turns also. The Korean team could score only eight points in the third turn. The Indian team did not give Korea a chance to make a comeback by continuously scoring points in the fourth turn.
