Maha Kumbh: Devotees will be able to know their location from the QR code installed on the electric poles.

Uttar Pradesh’s Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma told on Sunday that the devotees coming to the Maha Kumbh Mela will be able to know their location from the QR code installed on the electric poles. Sharma said that in this regard, QR codes are being installed on more than 50 thousand electric poles in the Mahakumbh Mela area spread over 25 sectors.

Sharma said that at present one crore devotees from India and abroad have reached the fair area and ghats and are taking bath in the holy Sangam. He said that with this QR code it will be easy for all the devotees to know their location and which sector they are in. Or which road are you on?

The minister said that devotees can also send their suggestions and complaints to the control room by scanning the QR code from their mobile. Sharma conducted on-site inspection with the aim of finalizing the arrangements at the Maha Kumbh Mela and also held a meeting with the officials and gave necessary guidelines.

  • Many officers including Principal Secretary Urban Development, Director Urban Body, Divisional Commissioner, Fair Officer, Municipal Commissioner and Chief Engineer of Electricity Department and Managing Director of Jal Nigam were present in the meeting.
  • According to the official release issued by the government, after the meeting, the Minister conducted an on-site inspection of various arrangements including new ghats, roads, lighting and drinking water built at the Sangam area.
  • The Minister roamed around Prayagraj city till late Saturday night and inspected the condition and cleanliness of public toilets and gave necessary instructions to fix any shortcomings wherever he was found.

The Urban Development Minister told the media at the Circuit House in Prayagraj on Sunday that all the preparations for Prayagraj Mahakumbh are almost complete, there may be some work left somewhere, that too will be completed soon.

He said that to make the Mahakumbh divine, grand and supernatural, works worth more than Rs 15 thousand crores have been done, out of which works worth Rs 7 thousand crores have been done by the state government and works worth Rs 8 thousand crores have been done by the Central Government.
