Devotees having faith in Sanatan tradition were standing in queues to see the nectar bath of the Akharas and to get the blessings of Naga and Bairagi saints and sages. Naga Sadhus holding garlands, spears, arrows, swords and tridents in their hands took the nectar bath in the Sangam during the Brahmamuhurta itself. The common people were overwhelmed to see the eternal tradition of bathing in nectar coming alive in the Mahakumbh which has been going on for thousands of years. Nagas, the protectors of religion living in the caves, monasteries and temples of the Himalayas, adorned themselves and descended into the lap of Mother Ganga to frolic.
