Maharashtra: Bees attack in Shivneri Fort, 60 people injured

About 60 people were injured in a bee attack on Sunday at the famous Shivneri Fort located in Pune district of Maharashtra. A forest officer gave this information. The official said that 50 of the injured were treated in the nearest hospital.

The great Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born in the Shivneri Fort. This fort is in Junnar tehsil, about 90 km from Pune. Hundreds of people come daily to see this historical site.

Junnar Forest Range official Pradeep Chavan said, “The incident took place near the Shivai temple located in the fort. According to eyewitnesses, a group of youths threw stones at the bees’ hive, after which the bees attacked. ”

According to Chavan, around 60 visitors were stung by bees, 50 of which required treatment in the hospital.

He said, “Fortunately, all the injured were out of danger and were later discharged.
