Superstar Manoj Kumar, known as ‘Bharat Kumar’ for patriotic films, died in Mumbai on April 4, on Friday, he was ill for some time and due to age related problems, he said goodbye to the world at the age of 87 pm at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital at around 3:30 pm. Meanwhile, Shatrughan Sinha, who has worked in the film Kranti and Santosh with Manoj Kumar. He mentioned his friendship with the late superstar and told that he met him a few months ago.
According to the Times of India report, Shatrughan Sinha said, “Manoj Kumar was a truly Bharat Ratna. He was right to call him earth and he was the pride of the country. He was not only actor and director of me, but also a very good friend. We were in regular contact for the last three decades. The children were named and they used to say, ‘I am their maternal uncle.’
He further said, he loved Poonam’s food and we used to send his favorite dish regularly to his house. About four months ago, we met him at his house, and I asked him about his health and homeopathy medicines because he knew a lot about it. He said, ‘Hey leave the shotgun, I am very good and strong.’
Referring to spending the time on the set, Shatrughan Sinha said, “I always used to reach the set late, but he never scolded me. He used to say, ‘There will be a good reason for you to come late. Let’s finish my work on time now’. I remember him as a complete artist – a talented actor, a talented actor, even better director and editor, and the Indian cinema.
