What is the whole matter of Kulbhushan Jadhav?
Kulbhushan Jadhav, a retired Indian Navy officer, was arrested by the Pakistani Army in March 2016. Pakistan claims that Kulbhushan is an employee of the Indian Intelligence Agency Raw (Research and Analysis Wing) and has been caught spying. However, the Government of India says, he was arrested from Iran, not from Balochistan.
Kulbhushan Jadhav has been considered as its citizen on every platform. At the same time, claims of his involvement in any kind of espionage incidents have been misunderstood. India has said that Kulbhushan Jadhav had a business in Iran. On 30 March 2016, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs had said that Kulbhushan was running his business in Iran in a legal manner, during which he was kidnapped. India has constantly alleged that Kulbhushan Jadhav has been harassed in Pakistan’s jail.
India appealed in International Court of Jadhav
Pakistan’s military court sentenced Jadhav to death in April 2017 on charges of espionage and terrorism. India knocked on the International Court of International Court (ICJ) against Pakistan to refuse Jadhav and challenge the death sentence. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the ICJ -based ICJ asked Pakistan in the matter in July 2019 to provide India to Jadhav and ensure a review of punishment.
