Ajinkya Rahane & Shreyas Iyer Argue With Umpire: There was a huge controversy in Ranji Trophy on Friday. In the match between Mumbai and Jammu and Kashmir, poor umpiring was seen on many occasions, due to which the fans as well as the players lost control over themselves. On one such occasion, when the umpire declared Shreyas Iyer out, Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane clashed with the umpire. During this time, Iyer was also seen with Rahane and both were seen arguing with the umpire on the field.

The drama took place on the second day of Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC. On Friday, 30-year-old batsman Shreyas Iyer tried to play the second ball of the 22nd over of Mumbai’s innings, but the ball went to the wicketkeeper.

This ball of Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Auqib Nabi Dar had kissed Iyer’s bat. Kanhaiya Wadhawan, standing behind the stump, took the catch while diving to his right.

After this the umpire did not delay in raising his finger but Iyer was unhappy with the decision. He decided not to leave the field and started arguing with the umpire. Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane, who was at the non-striker end, also joined the discussion later.

According to reports, the debate was about whether the catch was clean or not. However, a long discussion with the umpire was of no avail and Iyer had to leave the field and return.

Shreyaar Iyer was successful in scoring 17 runs in the second innings with the help of four fours in 16 balls. He was the fourth Mumbai batsman to return to the pavilion in the second innings.

There was a partnership of 29 runs between Iyer and Rahane. Earlier, Iyer was out in the first innings after scoring 11 runs in seven balls. He tried to play a big shot on the ball of Yudhveer Singh and was caught out at mid-on.
