‘My name is a temple
New Delhi:
Urvashi Rautela has raised controversy by claiming about her temple. In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, the dacoit Maharaj Star said about the temple of Urvashi near Badrinath Dham. His statement angered the local priests and residents. The actress claimed in the conversation that “there is a temple named after me in Uttarakhand. If someone goes to Badrinath, there is a ‘Urvashi temple’ right next to it.” When asked if people come to seek blessings, they replied, “Now they will do the temple.” The actress further said that students of Delhi University pray and “Even garlands my pictures.”
He said that he calls him “Dum Dumai”. He insisted, “I am serious about this. This is true. The news about this is also right up. You can read them.” Local religious people have strongly denied these claims. Former religious officer of Badrinath Dham, Bhuvan Chandra Uniyal told the media that Urvashi’s statement is “misleading”. He clarified that the temple is actually dedicated to Goddess Urvashi from Hindu mythology and is considered one of the 108 Shaktipeeths.
He said that “this is not his temple. Such statements are unacceptable and the government should take strict steps against any person making such claims.” Amit Sati, president of the Brahma Kapal Tirtha Purohit Society, also condemned the actress’s statement and said that the ancient temple is associated with Goddess Urvashi and not any person. He said, “Such statements disrespect the religious sentiments of the people here.”
