Jammu and Kashmir:
The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly passed a proposal with a common manner, expressing grief and suffering over the barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam last week and pledged to fight firmly to defeat the nefarious intentions to disturb communal harmony and to obstruct progress. It may be noted that 26 people were killed in Pahalgam Hamal, most of which were tourists. During the special session of the Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary made this proposal which was passed by the House with voice.
Does not believe in cheap politics- Abdullah
Responding to the discussion in the House, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and admitted that he failed to fulfill his responsibility to provide a safe return to the tourists. At the same time, after the Pahalgam terror attack, he also spoke not to insist on the demand to restore the status of the Union Territory on this occasion. He said, “The responsibility of security in Jammu and Kashmir is not of the elected government of the Union Territory. But I will not use this opportunity to ask for the status of full state. How can I demand the status of full state right now? I do not believe in cheap politics.”
There are no words to apologize to the families of the victims
Abdullah, referring to the impact of the frightening attack on the whole country, said, “The whole country has been affected by this attack from North to South and East to West and from Jammu and Kashmir to Kerala. It is not a word to apologize to those families who have lost their loved ones for the first time.
Such acts attacked the values of Kashmiriyat
Earlier, while addressing the assembly, Deputy Chief Minister Chaudhary said, “The House expresses deep sorrows and pain over the barbaric and inhuman attack on innocent civilians in Pahalgam on 22 April. This House clearly condemns this heinous, cowardly act, resulting in innocent people.” Citing the proposal, Chaudhary said, “Such acts of terror are a direct attack on the values of Kashmiriyat, the values inherent in our constitution and the spirit of unity, peace and harmony, which has been a specialty of Jammu and Kashmir and our nation for a long time.”
Syed Adil Hussain Shah also mentioned in the document
The document states that this house stands with complete solidarity with the victims and their families. It also mentioned the killing of mule operator Syed Adil Hussain Shah, which gave his life while trying to save tourists from the terrorist attack. According to the proposal, “Their courage and selfless service reflect the true spirit of Kashmir and will serve as an inspiration for future generations. This House appreciates the extraordinary unity, compassion and perseverance shown by the people of Kashmir and Jammu after the attack.”
Special appeal to media
The proposal stated, “Peaceful performance in cities and villages and the easily expression of moral and physical support towards tourists, peace, communal harmony and law confirm the strong commitment of people towards rule. This house is alert to the horrific conspiracy behind the horrific conspiracy behind targeting the victims of this attack selectively. It appeals to all sections of the society and especially media. Do not become a victim of this horrific conspiracy by provoking this horrific conspiracy.
