India on Saturday condemned the alleged kidnapping and murder of a Hindu minority leader in Bangladesh and called upon the interim government of Dhaka to fulfill their responsibility for the protection of minorities. Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on social media that Bhabesh Chandra Roy’s “brutal murder” shows the tendency of harassment of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.

He said, “We have seen the kidnapping and brutal murder of Bhabesh Chandra Roy, a Hindu minority leader in Bangladesh.”
Jaiswal said, “This murder is a method of planned oppression of Hindu minorities under the interim government, while criminals of previous such incidents are refraining from punishment (till now).” He said, “We condemn the incident and once again remind the interim government to fulfill the responsibility of protecting all minorities including Hindus, including Hindus.” The Indo-Bangladesh relations have declined after the departed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina departed from Dhaka due to large-scale anti-government protests. The distance between the two countries has arisen after the Mohammad Yunus-led interim government led by the interim government led by Mohammad Yunus to stop attacks on minorities, especially Hindus, especially Hindus.
