Famous for his character in the 2017 film ‘Indu Sarkar’, X Beauty Queen Ishika Taneja said goodbye to her acting career to follow the Sanatan Dharma after taking a holy bath in the Ganges during the Mahakumbh 2025 festival in Prayagraj. She won the Miss World Tourism title in 2018. After taking a spiritual turn, Tanja made headlines with his adventurous statements on the role of women in the society.

Ishika Taneja took a dip in the holy water at Mahakumbh on 29 January after attending her guru initiation ceremony in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. He received spiritual initiation from Shankaracharya Swami Sadanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj. Talking about my new path, he said, “I am a proud Sanatani. I am associated with the spirit of service. Mahakumbh has divine powers. The biggest achievement of my life is that I am Guru Diksha with Shankaracharya ji I have got direction in life due to being a guru. “
She also described her journey from showbiz to spirituality as ‘floating’ and said that after working for many years in films and music videos, she has finally returned to ‘home’. Talking about her ideas about the real purpose of femininity, she said, “Women are not designed to wear short clothes. They are designed to serve Sanatan.”
Ishika Taneja said that she has no planning to return to her own old life. However, he said that he is ready to make films in future.
Ishika’s showbiz career
In 2016, the then President Pranab Mukherjee honored Ishika with the President’s Award in the 100 successful women category of India. He worked in Vikram Bhatt’s web series extent and set a Guinness World Record to complete 60 full airbrush makeup in just 60 minutes on 60 models.
