Wang Yi, a member of the political bureau of the CPC Central Committee of China and director of the office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission, on Saturday, spoke to India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Giving information about this conversation, China said that Doval called the anti -terrorism action necessary after the Pahalgam terror attack. He emphasized that war is not the choice of India and it does not fulfill the interests of any side. Both India and Pakistan are committed to maintaining the ceasefire and expect a quick restoration of regional peace and stability.
Wang Yi expressed his opposition to China’s condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack and all the forms of terrorism. He said that given the current complex and unstable international status, it is difficult to achieve peace and stability in Asia and should be cherished. India and Pakistan are neighbors that cannot be transferred and both are also neighbors of China.
He said that China appreciates Doval’s statement that war is not the choice of India and honestly hopes that both sides will remain calm and restrain, resolve differences through dialogue and consultation and avoid moving forward. China supports achieving a broad and permanent ceasefire through dialogue by India and Pakistan and hopes that it is in the fundamental interests of the two countries and the common aspirations of the international community.
It is noteworthy that a ceasefire was announced between India and Pakistan, which was moving towards the full war, but within a few hours, Pakistan violated it and again carried out drone attacks in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir. After this, the Indian Army has also started retaliation.
