ONDC crossed 200 million transactions, this is amazing in just 6 months

Giving information on Monday, the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) said that the company has officially crossed the 200 million transactions figure, which shows an important role in India’s Digital Commerce Outlook as a game-chainer of ONDC in India’s Digital Commerce Outlook. According to the company, it took about 20 months (January 2023 to August 2024) to reach 100 million transactions, but in the last six months, ONDC has added about 100 million new transactions.

This fast shows that ONDC has become an ambitious initiative in a nationwide movement, which has encouraged food and beverages, grocery, retail, logistics, mobility and financial service to adopt at a large level.

In January this year, the government launched MSME Trade Environment and Marketing (TEAM) initiative in three years with a budget outlay of Rs 277.35 crore. The initiative, taken by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in partnership with ONDC, aims to include 5 lakh micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), of which 50 percent of which will be female-deed businesses. So that digital commerce can be adopted and their market appearance can be expanded.

ONDC is creating a convenient model that will bring revolution in digital commerce, which will give more strength to the reach of retail e-commerce in India.

Big change in e-commerce sector from the start of ONDC

Initiative of the Department of Industry and Internal Trade Promotion (DPIIT) -ONDC has not only increased numbers since its introduction in September 2022, but it has also given a new and better form of businesses and consumers to join e -commerce.
