New Delhi:
Tahwwur Rana, accused of Mumbai terror attack, has been opening several secrets since then in India’s grip. It is now known that Rana connected the youth with radical ideology even while in Canada and seduced people through a radical organization called ‘Markaz-ud-Dawat-Val-Irshad’ (MDI). This organization was later known as ‘Jamaat-ud-Dawa’, which is also associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. The investigating agencies revealed that Rana was directly related to the 313 brigade of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, which was led by Ilyas Kashmiri.
Reiki of high-profile areas in India
Tawwur Rana, with the help of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, prepared a network of funding and recruitment in India and Canada. He helped to get high-profile bases like National Defense College in Delhi, Chabad House in Mumbai, Shiv Sena Headquarters and Siddhivinayak Temple. The conversation between Rana and David Headley revealed that they had videographed about 40-50 important locations. Rana asked Headley to meet the influential people in India so that he could reach important places. Headley had befriended an Indian female friend, but did not get a direct connection with terrorist activities.
Headley and Rana were talking in codeword after the terrorist attack
Investigation also revealed that Rana had contacts in Dubai, who met other conspirators like Abdur Rahman. After the 26/11 attacks, Rana, Headley and ISI officials used a codeword called ‘MMP’, which was associated with the plan for possible attacks in India and Denmark. Rana also confessed that ‘Zaki Ka Sura’, which Zaki-ur-Rehman used to lead Lakhvi, was planning 26/11 in collaboration with ISI. NIA is now preparing sketches of ‘Major Iqbal’, ‘Major Sameer’, ‘Code D’, ‘Abu Anas’ and others. In the investigation of email accounts and digital data, clues have also been found from 13 other IDs including email.
