The terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir has rejected the demand for boycott of Pakistani artists and their films, which has started with Fawad Khan’s upcoming Hindi film ‘Abir Gulal’. On Tuesday, at least 26 people were killed in a terrorist attack at a major tourist place in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, mostly tourists.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees’ (FWICE) once again called upon the Indian film and entertainment industry not to work with all Pakistani actors, singers and technicians.
FWICE said that despite the instructions already issued, we have been informed about working with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan for the Hindi film ‘Abir Gulal’ recently. In view of the recent attack in Pahalgam, FWICE is once again obliged to fully boycott all Pakistani artists, singers and technicians working in any Indian film or entertainment project. This includes working or performing anywhere in the world.
FWICE issued this directive in February 2019 after the Pulwama terror attack, in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed. FWICE with more than five lakh members has warned that it will take disciplinary action against those working with Pakistani artists.
