In the case of Indian citizen Kulbhushan Jadhav, Pakistan is seen doing gimmick once. Pakistan’s Supreme Court has a shocking statement in this case. Khwaja Haris Ahmed, a lawyer of Pakistan Defense Ministry in the court, said that despite the decision of the International Court of International Court of ICJ, Jadhav was not given the right to do his own. The argument behind this was given that the ICJ’s order was limited to diplomatic access only.

The special thing is that this comment has come to light when a constitutional bench of the Supreme Court was hearing the punishment given by the military courts to the accused of the riots of May 2023. Jadhav’s case was deliberately raised to prove that the officers who have been given to them are not even available to Pakistani citizens.

Will not be able to appeal against punishment

Kulbhushan Jadhav has not yet been allowed to be against his punishment. While the ICJ gave a verdict in India’s favor in June 2019, saying that Pakistan should reconsider Jadhav’s sentence and death sentence. Also, Indian officials should be allowed to meet them.

Regarding this whole matter, India says that Pakistan has not fully followed the ICJ’s instructions. India had clearly stated in 2020 that Pakistan is refusing to implement the ICJ’s decision. India has also alleged that the case of Jadhav in Pakistan was neither transparent nor in accordance with the principles of justice.
