Shahid afridi statement on shadab khan: Former captain Shahid Afridi questioned all -rounder Shadab Khan’s return to the national T20 team and said that Pakistan is in ICU due to wrong decisions. Shadab, which has been out of the last T20 World Cup, has been called back and has also been appointed as the vice -captain of Salman Ali Aga -led team for the series against New Zealand.
During the media interaction before the start of this series, Afridi said, “On what basis he has been called back. What has his performance in domestic cricket or what is it that he has been selected in the team again.”
This former all -rounder said that Pakistan will not change until the decisions are taken on the basis of merit. Afridi said, “We always talk about preparations and when a competition comes and we fail, we talk about treating it. The truth is that Pakistan is in ICU due to wrong decisions.”
He said that whenever a new president takes charge, he comes and changes everything. Former captain Afridi questioned, “There is no continuity or uniformity in the board’s decisions and policies. We keep changing the captain, coach or some players but what is the accountability of the board officials.”
He said that it is sad to see the coach blaming the players for saving his job and it is sad to see the management blaming the players and the coach to save their place. Afridi said, “How can our cricket move forward when the sword is constantly hanging on the head of the captain and the coach.” He also realized that PCB President Mohsin Naqvi is a positive person but the truth is that he does not know much about cricket.
