Payal Kapadia’s Cannes-winning film All We Imagine as Light did not receive an award at the 82nd Golden Globes Awards ceremony. However, the director took this defeat with great ease and shared an exciting post on his Instagram stories. Payal Kapadia was present at the event along with the producers of the film. Payal shared a picture in which she is seen posing with Thomas Hakim, Julian Graf and Ranabir Das before going to the Golden Globes.

Payal wrote in the caption, “We didn’t win anything, but we had a lot of fun.” He also added a funny emoji with it. Payal thanked her designers on the post. She wore a hand-knitted jumpsuit on this occasion.

Got two nominations in Golden Globe 2025

All We Imagine as Light, a heart-touching drama about two Mumbai nurses, received two nominations at the Golden Globes – Best Non-English Language Motion Picture and Best Director. The film lost to Emilia Perez in the first category. The Brutalist won the award in the direction category.

Payal Kapadia’s first feature film received a lot of praise at the international level after its premiere in Cannes. This film was named Best International Film by the New York Film Critics Circle and recently won an award in the same category at the Gotham Awards.

All We Imagine as Light took the top position in Sight & Sound magazine’s annual list of the 50 best films of the year. The Malayalam-Hindi feature was distributed by Janus Films and Sideshow in the US and released in India by Rana Daggubati.

Payal Kapadia’s film starring Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha and Chhaya Kadam in lead roles tells the story of love and friendship in the bustling city of Mumbai through three women, two Malayali nurses – Prabha and Anu – and their friend Parvati.
