Lalit modi vanuatu citizenship: Lalit Modi, former chairman of the Cricket Control of India (BCCI), who left India amid financial irregularities, money laundering and allegations of corruption, has gained citizenship of (Vanuatu) Vanuu. His legal advisor Mehboob Abdi confirmed the news. Lalit Modi left India and fled to London in the year 2010. Lalit Modi has many serious corruption charges in India. Now after taking citizenship of Lalit Modi’s Vanuatu, it will be difficult to bring him back to India.
Lalit Modi’s legal advisor Mehboob Abdi said that after acquiring citizenship of Vanuatu, Lalit Modi is now engaged in the process of surrendering the Indian passport. Lalit Modi has taken all the necessary steps of the prescribed process of surrendering the Indian passport.
Many allegations against Lalit Modi in India
Lalit Modi’s legal advisor clarified that an Indian agency has never filed a charge sheet or complaint against Lalit Modi in any court nor any charges have been framed against him in any Indian court. Lalit Modi has been accused as the founder of IPL.
Foreign Ministry spokesman also confirmed
Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said, “Lalit Modi has applied to submit his passport to the Indian High Commission in London. It will be investigated under existing rules and procedures. We have also been told that he has gained citizenship of Vanuatu. We are advancing the matter against him under the law.”
Earlier in 2022, Lalit Modi came into the limelight for the discussions of affair with actress Sushmita Sen. Then many pictures of these two were also revealed.
