Bollywood actress and IPL team Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta has donated ₹ 1 crore to the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) under the South Western Command of the Indian Army. His contribution came a few days after the launch of India’s Operation Sindoor, which was started on 22 April in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. In this, 26 tourists were brutally murdered by Pakistan sponsored terrorists.
Veer Zara’s actress shared a video of this program on her Instagram on Sunday (May 25), in which she is seen addressing the families of the army. In his speech, he praised the soldiers and their families for their courage and power. He said during his address, “Our Indian Army is not a mighty, but also brave, but more brave and mighty are the families of everyone. It is a very small gift from our side.”
Along with the video, he posted a long caption in which he told about his emotional moments in the program. She spoke about her visit in the auditorium of the South Western Command and told how deeply she was influenced by the stories and sacrifices of the soldiers and their families.
‘I saw posters of army officers and soldiers’
He wrote in the caption, “When I was going towards the auditorium of the South Western Command of the Indian Army, I saw the posters of the army officers and soldiers who had won different bravery prizes. Some gave their lives for our country, while Kudh came back with the wounds from the battlefield.
She wrote, “In the program I met the women who would remember these loved ones every day and every moment. I met her children and saw her smile. There was no complaint, there was no tears – only pride, power and sacrifice. There was so much bravery in that auditorium that I became humble beyond words. It was really respectful to share the platform with these brave women and their families.”
