Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has reached Assam today. Where he will participate in many programs. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will flag off three trains from Guwahati Railway Station. After which Akashvani will inaugurate the FM transmitter in Kokrajhar. On Friday, Union Minister of Railways, Information and Broadcasting and Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav reached Guwahati on a one-day visit to Assam.
Emphasis on increasing connectivity and infrastructure
The Railway Minister is participating in several programs aimed at increasing connectivity and promoting infrastructure development in Assam. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will flag off the Guwahati-New Lakhimpur Janshatabdi Express, New Bongaigaon-Guwahati Passenger Train and Tinsukia-Naharlagun Express. The Railway Minister will also dedicate Tetelia ROB (Road Over Bridge) at Dispur, Guwahati.
Will inaugurate 10KW FM transmitter in Kokrajhar
All India Radio will inaugurate 10 KW FM transmitter in Kokrajhar. All India Radio Kokrajhar is operating with a 20 kW medium wave transmitter since its inception on 15 August 1999. Will now expand its FM coverage. The new FM transmitter will cover a radius of 70 kilometers with better reception quality in Kokrajhar and surrounding districts.
Virtual inauguration of deemed university
With the launch of this transmitter, more than 30 lakh residents of Kokrajhar and surrounding districts (Dhubri, Bongaigaon and Chirang) will get access to high quality FM broadcasting. Apart from this, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will virtually inaugurate the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology Deemed University from the railway station. Today, later in the day, after this program, the Railway Minister will visit the Tata Semiconductor Factory located in Jagiroad, Assam. The Union Minister will also review the ongoing projects of Northeast Frontier Railway during the visit.
