Rajya Sabha postponed after 17 hours of marathon meeting, proceedings will start again at 11 am today

The Rajya Sabha proceedings were postponed at around 4 am on Friday after a 17 -hour marathon. Now the meeting of Rajya Sabha will start again from 11 am in the day. Before postponing the proceedings, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said that this is a “rare opportunity” that the House is ending at 4.02 am and will sit again at 11 am on the same day. The proceedings of the House started at 11 am on Thursday morning. Zero hour and Question Hour took place in the prescribed manner. After this, the debate on the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 started at 1 pm. This bill was passed at around 2.30 pm on Friday. After this, the House also passed a resolution introduced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to impose President’s rule in Manipur.
