Born in a Bengali family in Lahore, Naveen Nischal moved towards modeling after completing the school and also won the primary round of Mr. India in Delhi in the 60s. He asked Naveen Nischal to enroll in the Film Institute in Pune and asked to know about the film world. Later Naveen married divorced Gitanjali. But on 22 April 2006, Gitanjali committed suicide. She left a suicide note, claiming that Naveen ‘disturbed’ her and she was ‘mentally tortured’ and Naveen’s brother Praveen ‘instigated’ to harass her. Due to this, Nischal and his brother Praveen were sent to police custody by the local court till 6 May 2006. As India Today said, Nischal’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde claimed that Gitanjali was suffering from depression and he herself had a problem of alcohol. However, after some time both were released. Naveen died of a heart attack on 19 March 2011 in Pune. His first marriage has two daughters Natasha and Nomita.
