Around 10,000 special guests will participate in the 76th Republic Day Parade to be held on the duty path in New Delhi on 26 January 2025. These guests are outstanding individuals from various fields who have contributed to the building of ‘Golden India’. The aim of this initiative is to increase public participation in national events. These include those individuals who have excelled in their respective fields and who have achieved remarkable success by efficiently utilizing various schemes run by the government.
Some categories of special guests are as follows
Top Performing Village Sarpanch, Disaster Relief Workers, Guests from Vibrant Villages, Best Performing Water Warriors, Primary Agricultural Credit (PAC) Committees, Best Performing Societies, Best Performing Community Resource Persons (Krishi Sakhi, Industry Sakhi etc.), best performing SHG members, best performing DGT trainees trained under National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), forest and wildlife conservation volunteers/workers, handloom artisans, handicrafts Artisans, Special Achievers and Tribal beneficiaries of various schemes, ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activists), Mann Ki Baat participants, My Bharat volunteers, Paralympic contingents and International Sorts event winners, Agricultural Infrastructure Fund (AIF) Scheme, Farmers. Producer Organization (FPO), Padma Award winning farmers, PM Kisan, PMFBY, PMKSY, PM Surya Ghar Yojana, Akshay Urja employees, PM Kusum Yojana beneficiaries, Anganwadi workers, Road Construction Workers, Best Start-up, Best Patent Holder, Best Performing PM-Vishwakarma Yojana Beneficiary, Best Performing Om Matsya Sampada Yojana Beneficiary, Best Performing Rashtriya Gokul Mission Beneficiary.
Sarpanches whose villages have achieved targets in selected government initiatives have been invited. The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances had announced a national level competition among the Panchayats. Panchayats which have achieved targets in at least six major schemes were selected as special guests.
The invited guests include some of the Self Help Groups (SHGs) which are doing exemplary work in ensuring income and employment generation and environment protection. SHGs working specifically in the areas of food, nutrition, health, water sanitation, sanitation, Panchayati Raj institutions, convergence of community based organizations and gender activities have been invited. Priority has been given to those SHG members who have not traveled to Delhi before. Apart from this, PM-Janman Mission participants, tribal artisans, members of Van Dhan Vikas Yojana, members of National Scheduled Tribe Finance and Development Corporation undertakings, Asha workers and MyBharat volunteers have also been invited.
Disaster relief workers, water committees, water warriors, community resource persons, and forest and wildlife conservation volunteers who have done excellent work in the field of disaster relief and environment protection have been invited for the first time. Apart from this, farmers and families supporting environmental protection and use of renewable energy under PM Surya Ghar Yojana and PM Kusum have also been invited for the first time.
Para-Olympic contingent members, Chess Olympiad medalists, Bridge World Games silver medalists, and Snooker World Championship gold medalists who have excelled in their respective sports have been invited as special guests at the Republic Day celebrations. Have brought glory to the country by performing. Apart from this, school children inspired by the spirit of patriotism, who have emerged winners of All India School Band Competition and Veer Gatha Competition, will also be honoured.
Along with the Republic Day celebrations, these special guests will also get an opportunity to visit the National War Memorial, Prime Minister’s Museum and other major sites of Delhi. Apart from this, they will also get a chance to interact with the concerned ministers.
