Republic Day Parade Rehearsal: Avoid these routes, know where traffic has been closed; Read full advisory


New Delhi:
Preparations for the Republic Day parade are in full swing. There will be a full dress rehearsal tomorrow on the duty path. The parade rehearsal will start from Vijay Chowk at 10:30 am and will proceed to the Red Fort. During the full dress rehearsal, T90 tank, Nag missile system, Pinaka rocket system will showcase the military might of the country. Apart from this, different marching contingents of the armed forces and tableaux of different states will present a glimpse of different strengths and cultural inclusion. Different fighter aircraft and aircraft of the Indian Air Force will also display their spectacular aerial skills on the duty path.

Extensive traffic arrangements have been made in the national capital to ensure smooth conduct of the parade. According to Delhi Police, the parade will start from Vijay Chowk and reach the Red Fort via Dattapath, C-Hexagon, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Statue, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and Netaji Subhash Marg. The traffic police has advised people not to travel on these routes to avoid traffic jams. According to Delhi Police, do not travel on these routes to avoid traffic jams during the parade in Delhi.

Delhi Police DCP Traffic Dhal Singh said, ‘The full dress parade rehearsal for 26th January is held on 23rd. The time of the parade for this is 10:30. Traffic and police arrangements are made two-three hours before this. Due to this, Rafi Marg, Man Singh Road and Janpath, all three roads are closed. Extensive arrangements have been made. Traffic will be closed after 9:15, the parade time is till 12-12:15, after that it will be opened.
