The ongoing protest demanding the withdrawal of Waqf Bill in Murshidabad in West Bengal became violent. There was a clash between the police and the protesters. During this, the mob attacked the police vehicles. The miscreants also set several police vehicles on fire.

The mob vandalized police vehicles and pelted stones.
A protest march was taken out by the minority community demanding withdrawal of Waqf Bill from Jangipur PWD ground. With the intention of blocking National Highway-12, as soon as this march proceeded from Jangipur to Umarpur, the police stopped them. After this, he clashed with the police.
The mob set fire to several police vehicles. Also, a large number of houses were vandalized in Baniyapur and Umarpur areas. Due to the clash being violent, the police were forced to go out of the area for more than half an hour.
After this, a large police team led by Jangipur OC and Jangipur Superintendent of Police arrived to control the situation.
