At least 21 people died and more than 80 people were injured in Russia’s ballistic missile attack on Ukraine’s north-eastern city of Sumi. Giving this information, Ukraine said that this is another fatal attack on Russia on citizens. The missile attack took place at the time when a top American official has recently visited Russia. The city of Sumi of Ukraine is almost with the border of Russia and this city has been continuously targeted for the last few weeks.
The attack on Sumi took place two days after American envoy Steve Vitkoff met Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin. Also, US President Donald Trump has also been urged to end the war with Russia.
People injured on roads, houses
Ukraine’s emergency service said, “Russia attacked the city center with ballistic missiles. At the same time when there were many people on the road.” Also said, “People were injured in the middle of the road, cars, public transport and houses.”
Also said, “According to the beginning data, 21 people have died.”
At the same time, the internal ministry said that 83 people including seven children were injured in the attack.

Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky has asked Europe and America to react strongly. He said on social media, “The enemy missiles targeted cars on a simple city road, a simple life: houses, educational institutions, roads.”
He also said, “This happened on the day when people go to the church: Palm Sunday, the festival of the Lord’s entry into Jerusalem.”

Local authorities in Sumi have issued footage lying on the floor to the bodies scattered on the road, fire in cars and the injured citizens.
The attack occurred when Trump publicly expressed public anger against Russia for “bombing like crazy” in Ukraine this month and called for “moving forward” to end the war that has been over for more than three years.
