South Africa Beat Pakistan In Cape Town: Neighboring country Pakistan, which was on South Africa tour, had to face a 0-2 defeat in the two-match Test series. The Green team, which lost by two wickets in Centurion, lost by 10 wickets in the second test match. Batting first after winning the toss in Cape Town, the African team managed to score 615-10 runs in 141.3 overs. Starting the innings, Ryan Rickelton looked in great form. For the team, he played a double century of 259 runs in 343 balls at a strike rate of 75.51. Apart from him, Captain Temba Bavuma (106) and Kyle Verne (100) also managed to score centuries.
In response to the 615 runs scored by the African team in the first innings, the Pakistani team could score only 194-10 runs in its first innings. Babar Azam (58) and Mohammad Rizwan (46) batted well during the match. But due to no contribution from other batsmen, the entire team collapsed for 194 runs. After which the green team was forced to play follow-on.
While playing follow on, captain Shan Masood (145) and Babar Azam (81) won everyone’s hearts with their excellent batting. But after his dismissal, once again the middle order and lower order batsmen surrendered. As a result, despite a good start, the team could reach only 478 runs.
This is Pakistan’s biggest score after follow-on. But despite this historic achievement, Masood and company failed to win. The African team easily achieved the target of 58 runs in just 7.1 overs without any loss. Opening the innings during the match, David Bedingham scored unbeaten 47 runs in 30 balls, while Aiden Markram contributed 14 unbeaten runs in 13 balls.
Ryan Rickelton became ‘Player of the Match’, while Marco Jensen got the ‘Player of the Series’ award.
28-year-old batsman Ryan Rickelton, who played an excellent century of 252 runs in the second Test, has been chosen as ‘Player of the Match’. All-rounder cricketer Marco Jensen, who showed his threat throughout the series, has been chosen as ‘Player of the Series’.
