South Korea: Thousands of people took to the streets in side and opposition before the verdict in impeachment case

Sol:
Thousands of supporters and protesters gathered in Sol, South Korea on Saturday. The Constitutional Court is going to give its verdict on the impeachment on President Union Suk Yol, due to which the political atmosphere of the country has been hot. The Constitutional Court has completed the hearing and it will pronounce the verdict whether Yu should be removed from the post of President or not. The date of hearing of the verdict has not been announced yet.

If Un is formally removed from the post, there will be a quick election within 60 days. If the impeachment dismisses, Yu will immediately resume its duties.

The anti -Union Citizen Group Candle Move held rallies near the Constitutional Court at Central Sol. The rally was followed by another massive protest in the nearby Guangahwamun region. A group of opposition MPs also participated in it.

The country’s largest labor union, the Korean Trade Union Confederation (KCTU) also performed a separate demonstration in Central Sol.

KCTU President Yang Qong-Su, recently referring to the decision by the court to release him, said, “We are all well aware of why Un Suk Jol should be removed. Now it’s the time of the most vigorous opposition, because he has come out of jail smiling.”

Police estimated that around 20,000 people participated in the rallies.

Let us know that Yu was detained in January on the charge of inciting a rebellion through failed attempt to implement martial law on 3 December. He was released from jail on March 9, as the prosecution decided not to appeal against his court’s court verdict. The court had described Yu’s custody as illegal. However, impeachment and criminal cases against Yu will continue.

In Guangahwamun, the estimated 35,000 people gathered and raised slogans to dissolve the national assembly of Yu and to dissolve the National Assembly.

According to the Yonhap news agency, some supporters of Yu staged a protest before the Constitutional Court, where they also clashed with the opponents for some time.

President Yu announced an emergency martial law in South Korea on the night of 3 December, but it was canceled after the Parliament voted against it. Martial law remained in force for a few hours. However, the martial law, which came into force for a few ghats, shook the country’s politics.

The National Assembly has passed a resolution against President Union Suk Yol and acting President Han Duck-Suk-Su. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Choi Song-Moks are handling the responsibility of both the acting President and the caretaker Prime Minister.
