Senior actress Sujata Mehta recently talked about the dynamics between female actresses during the 1970s and 80s. Sujata, known for her performances in films like Pratighaat, Yatheem and Kanwarlal, talked about her experience of working with Sridevi and shared details about the star’s behaviour. He also talked about the competition between Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit and the comparison between late veteran actor Rishi Kapoor and his son Ranbir Kapoor.

In a conversation on YouTube channel Hindi Rush, Sujata also addressed the common perception that Sridevi “had an attitude.” However, Sujata revealed that she never felt like this. Recalling an incident on the set, he told how Sridevi often used to come with one of her relatives. Once he even asked his niece to vacate a seat for Sujata.

Sujatha said, “He gave me respect.” He said that Sridevi was a bit “introverted” who did not speak much but she was always very nice to him. Sujata also talked about Sridevi’s emotional breakdown after her breakup with Mithun Chakraborty. Sujatha said, “She used to be very nervous but she was very professional. As soon as the camera was on, she would just be there for the camera. But after the shot, she would sit quietly in a corner.” Sujata recalled, “They loved each other very much.” When asked about the alleged tension between Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit, Sujata said, “They used to sit at a distance on the set. Madhuri did not talk to anyone. She used to sit in the corner with her Walkman.”
