New Delhi :
Astronaut Sunita Williams is currently in space. During this time Williams will see 16 sunrises and 16 sunsets. The reason for this is that at present Williams is in the International Space Station and he is in motion. The space station has given this information through a post on X today.

Had a flight to space in June
Williams flew to the space station in June aboard Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft with astronaut Barry Wilmore. Initially he was expected to return in 9 days. However, she has not been able to return yet and she has to spend the New Year there after Christmas. In a video shared by the American space agency NASA, he said that it is wonderful to be here. His colleagues were seen wearing Santa caps. Apparently this is part of the supplies sent by NASA through SpaceX Dragon capsule.
Enjoying each other’s company: Williams
Along with this, Williams was also heard saying in the video, “Welcome to the International Space Station as we get ready for the Christmas holidays. We are having a great time here, we are spending it with our entire ‘family’ on the International Space Station. Celebrating at the station, we are seven here and enjoying each other’s company like this.”
Hope to return in March
Williams and Wilmore are now expected to return in March. They were scheduled to return in February 2025, but this was also postponed due to the delay in the SpaceX Crew-10 mission.
The two astronauts of Crew-9 arrived at the space station in late September and were left vacant for Williams and Wilmore. All four were planned to return in February 2025.
