A bench of Justice Abhay S. Oak and Justice Ujjal Bhuiyan said that the agency will be tasked to carry out a large -scale forest plantation campaign in Delhi to increase the cover of trees in the national capital.
The bench said, “We consider it necessary to appoint an expert agency to prepare an action plan to increase the green area of the region under the jurisdiction of Delhi.” When we say the green region, we mean a large -scale forest plantation campaign to increase the green area. This includes launching a large scale forest plantation campaign to increase the cover of trees covered by GNCTD.
A copy of this order will be sent to the Forest Research Institute. The institute will file an affidavit according to the decisions. The court said that the agency affidavits will also explain the requirement of the required amount of funds for the project so that necessary instructions can be issued to the agency for payment of the expected amount.
