The protestor Salwan Momika, who burnt Quran in front of the mosque in the European country Sweden, has been shot dead. According to the AFP report, 38 -year -old Salwan was doing a live session on the ticket in the apartment in Sodertelje, Stockholm. Meanwhile, unknown assailants shot him. The police have registered a case against unknown people. The investigation of the case has been started.
Salwan burnt the Quran in front of the largest mosque in Stockholm on the day of Eid on 28 June 2023. Because of this, there were demonstrations against Sweden all over the world. After this, Salwan had set the Quran copies outside many mosques. He was also accused of crushing the Quran with his feet. Cases were also registered in many sections.

The case started on 16 January against him in a court in Stockholm. The Stockholm District Court said that the verdict was to be pronounced in a trial on Thursday, but the accused died. Because of this, the verdict is extended till 3 February. Police said in a statement that they had received information about firing in Sodertalje city, where Momika lived.
Salwan had lived in Iraqi militia
According to the report, Salwan had lived in Iraqi militia. In 2017, Salwan Momika formed its armed group on the outskirts of Iraqi city Mosul. However, he had to leave Iraq in 2018 after a power struggle with Ryan al-Kaldani, the head of another Christian militia organization Babylon. Then Sweden gave Salwan the status of refugee in 2021.
Why did the Quran burn Salwan?
Salwan Momika had demanded the Swedish government to burn the Quran in the name of freedom of expression. After this, the Sweden Police approved him to protest against Islam in 2023 for a day. Momika had said that he is not against us Muslims, but he is against his thoughts and beliefs.
