Rohit Sharma saddened by the defeat

The pain of the 184-run defeat in Melbourne was clearly visible on Rohit Sharma’s face. After the match he said, ‘It is very disappointing. It is not that we had entered the field with the intention of accepting defeat. We wanted to give our full strength in the match. But unfortunately this could not happen. It will be difficult to assess only two seasons. If we look at the entire Test match, we had chances, but we could not take advantage of those things. Australia had lost six wickets for 90 runs. I know very well that the situation is very difficult for us now, but we want to play tough cricket in difficult conditions. I don’t just look at one thing. Our situation was not good in this match. We faced very tough competition from their side. Especially the partnership between their 10th and 11th ranked batsmen in the second innings. Because of which perhaps we lost the match there. We knew that scoring 340 runs would not be easy. In the last two sessions we tried to save wickets by setting the platform. But the opposition team bowled well.
