One of them is superstar Jagdeep, who has worked in 400 films, whose real name is Syed Itayak Ahmed Jafri. He is known as the famous comedian of Hindi cinema. Everyone remembers comedy timing in their films. Those who do not know will remember Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan’s Evergreen film Sholay, which was released on 15 August. In this, Jagdeep’s character was Surma Bhopali, who has become quite famous.
His dialogue in Sholay was, ‘Our name Surma Bhopali is not like this.’, Which is still very famous today. He started his film career as a child artist in BR Chopra’s film ‘Afsana’ in 1951, after which he played one of his best characters. At the same time, his film journey is more than 70 years of age, which includes the names of films like Brahmachari, Do Bigha Zameen, Purana Temple, Andaz Apna apart from Sholay. Aamir Khan and Salman Khan’s style of Apna Apna, which is going to be released in theaters again on 25 April. In it, Jagdeep played the role of Bhaijaan’s father.
Talking about personal life, Jagdeep was born on 29 March 1939 in Datia, Madhya Pradesh. After partition in 1947, he moved to Mumbai with his family. However, due to the financial condition of the house in childhood, he started selling small things like soap, comb etc. on the streets to run the house expenses. Jagdeep performed three marriages, from whom he has 6 children, Javed Jaffrey and Naved Jaffrey are children of his second wife. Jagdeep died on 8 July 2020 in Mumbai.
