Sunny Deol and Shahrukh Khan are big stars of cinema. Both remain in the news for their films. Both have huge fan following in the country and the world. Both of them have given hit films one after the other, but there was a time when there was a dispute between the two over a film. Both of them did not talk to each other for 16 years. This incident is from the initial days of both of them. When both were trying to establish themselves in the cinema industry.

Where that film was Darr in 1993. Juhi Chawla, Sunny Deol and Shahrukh Khan were in lead roles in this romantic thriller film of Yash Chopra. Darr, in many ways, was a successful film for Shahrukh Khan. He made his Bollywood debut with the film Deewana a year before Darr. While he was seen in a romantic role in Deewana, he played the role of an anti-hero, sociopath and an unrequited lover in Darr. He was seen chasing Juhi Chawla i.e. Kiran throughout the film. Sunny Deol was in the role of Kiran’s husband.

According to reports, after the release of the film, Shahrukh received a lot of appreciation for his dark character. Whereas Sunny felt that somehow he did not get the recognition he deserved as the ‘hero’ of Yash Chopra’s film. In an interview with Filmfare magazine after the release of Darr in 1993, Sunny Deol had said, “I will never work with Yash Chopra again…He doesn’t stick to his words…I have nothing but good things to say about him.” There are no memories… “I trusted him… but he betrayed me…” Later in 2019, Sunny was seen in Aap Ki Adalat on India TV. Where he talked about his fight with Shahrukh Khan. He had said, People liked me in the film…They also liked Shahrukh Khan very much…My only problem with the film was that I didn’t know that they would glorify the villain…I was always open. I work in films from my heart and by believing in the person…’ I believe in working with faith… but there are many people in the industry… who do not work like this… maybe This is how he wants to maintain his stardom…

However, recently there was a reconciliation between the two. Shahrukh revealed in an Ask SRK session on his ‘Shahrukh Khan saw the film. Earlier he had called me and appreciated my work in the film. He was very happy and said to me… you really deserve this’ and I said thank you. Then I also talked to his wife Gauri Khan and his son Aryan Khan.
