The actor, as the two marriages, composed the first Gita Bali (1955–65) and the second from Neela Devi (1969-2011). Shammi met Geeta on the set of Miss Coca-Cola (1955). Shammi started attracting the Gita and the actor proposed, but after proposing several times, Geeta had said yes to Shammi. After trying for four months, Geeta finally said that let’s get married. Here, Shammi’s family was in Bhopal and the actor got married in Banganga temple in Mumbai with friends Johnny Walker and filmmaker Hari Walia. The actor did not have vermilion, so the actress took out lipstick from her purse and asked Shammi to fill the demand from her.
