The women of Khordha in Odisha are also taking advantage of this scheme and the new story of hope and interaction is blooming.
The scheme, which is being run with the joint efforts of the Central and State Government, is being implemented through the Odisha Livelihoods Mission (OLM). Its purpose is to make women economically and socially strong.
Loan without interest up to Rs 5 lakh
Under this scheme, women associated with self -help groups (SHG) promote entrepreneurship, provide skill development training and loan up to Rs 5 lakh without interest. Being benefited from this scheme, women are not only standing on their feet through self -employment, but are also becoming the support of their family and community.
The beneficiary of the scheme Rihana Begum shared her inspiring story during a conversation with news agency IANS. He told that I took a loan from my self -help group and bought a sewing machine. Now I sew clothes and teach other women also sewing. I have gained confidence in me by becoming ‘Lakhpati Didi’. The government is thankful that he recognized our dreams and gave them flight.
Other women are also providing employment
The beneficiary Madhusmita Sahu started the business of making paper plates with financial help from this scheme. He told that after getting government assistance, I started my business through SHG. Today I am not only financially self -sufficient, but also able to provide employment to other women. I am proud that I am ‘Lakhpati Didi’.
