There is a heated debate going on on social media between Elon Musk and Jimmy Wales. This enmity that started with ‘buying Wikipedia’ has now reached ‘Nazi salute’. Both are attacking each other with words. In fact, when Elon Musk did a new ‘salute’ while expressing his happiness during Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony, people called it a ‘Nazi salute’. Jimmy Wales also cornered Elon Musk on this issue. On Tuesday, Elon Musk had made the alleged ‘Nazi salute’ and by Wednesday, the issue was mentioned on the Wikipedia page related to Musk’s life as well as on the ‘Nazi salute’ page.

There is a debate regarding Elon Musk’s alleged ‘Nazi salute’, Wikipedia also jumped into this controversy. The Wikipedia page reports on this, saying, ‘In his speech during Trump’s second swearing-in ceremony, Musk raised his right hand upward twice. This gesture was compared to the Nazi salute or the fascist salute. However, Musk has denied any meaning behind this gesture. Musk said on this, ‘Since legacy media propaganda is considered a ‘legitimate’ source by Wikipedia, it naturally becomes a promoter of legacy media propaganda.’
Jimmy Wales’ question to Allen – Do you consider it wrong?
Responding to Elon Musk’s allegation, Jimmy Wales defended the report and said that whatever was written is a fact. But is there anything in it that you consider wrong? It’s true that you made this gesture (twice) and people compared it to the Nazi salute (many people) and it’s true that you denied that it meant anything. This is not propaganda, this is fact.
The enmity between Musk and Wales is old
Actually, this is a battle of ideologues. Elon Musk has been calling Wikipedia a staunch left supporter. This enmity between Elon Musk and Jimmy Wales has been going on for many years. While trolling Musk for buying X for $44 billion in the year 2022, Wells had said – I think Elon is unhappy that Wikipedia is not for sale. This has become very intense in recent times. Jimmy Wales said in a post a few days ago, ‘I think Alan is unhappy that Wikipedia is not available for sale. I hope that the campaign they have started to ensure that we do not get funds will get a lot of funds from people who care about life and truth. If Allen wanted to help, he would encourage kind and thoughtful intellectuals to get involved, which he would agree with. Hitting back at Jimmy Wales’ post, Elon Musk wrote, ‘The radical left is really upset that I had to take time out of my busy day to call me a Nazi while praising Hamas.’
