Filmmaker-director and actor Prithviraj Sukumaran gave his views on stardom. The actor said that a person can try to improve himself by assimilating whatever art is within a good actor or whatever art is within cinema. No one is a star from inside. He told, “No star becomes a star. You can try to be better than just a good actor or whatever art you are within cinema. The rest of the people give you tags by looking at your work. People make you a star, but it is present outside you. There is no stardom inside you, there is no stardom”.

The actor further said, “You always try to be better than your tomorrow. You always have to take care of yourself, if you are in a period of your career where you do not feel a challenge, fear or hesitation. Whatever you expect as an actor or technician, you are hesitant to do what you are required to do”.

Prithviraj said, “Stardom, dominance, fame, everything exists outside you. When you are within you, when you are with you, only you, your skills and how long and how far you can challenge yourself, this is the same”. Recently, Prithviraj Sukumaran, while highlighting the importance of technicians working on the shooting set, described them as ‘superstars’. About how the film technicians are honored in South cinema, Prithviraj said, “Cinema has always been like a team game for me. An actor’s performance can be good only when his co-star is also good, because an actor can only be good in the film. I am a director and can say that an actor can only be good in the film when the director can do good in the film.”

Prithviraj’s recent release action-thriller film is ‘L2: Emoran’, in which he has taken responsibility for acting as well as direction. The film also stars Mohanlal, Abhimanyu Singh, Tovino Thomas, Andrea Tiwadar, Jerome Flynn, Indrajit Sukumaran, Eric Aboun and Suraj Venjaramudu along with Prithviraj Sukumaran.
