The Home Department of Maharashtra has formed a special investigation team (SIT), which will investigate whether the former Maha Vikas Aghadi government led by Uddhav Thackeray to arrest the leaders of the opposition Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde in a fake case. Had planned.

The assembly was raised after the announcement of the formation of SIT by Senior Cabinet Minister Shambhuraje Desai. The minister said that the SIT will be headed by a senior IPS officer.

The controversy came to light when businessman Sanjay Punamia claimed that a telephone conversation with a former police officer in a media sting operation said that Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde were being planned to arrest.

BJP MLC Praveen Darkekar demanded to set up an SIT to investigate the conspiracy. He also introduced a pen drive in the Legislative Council, which contained videos of sting operation, which revealed this conspiracy. The SIT will be headed by Mumbai Police Officer Satyanarayan Chaudhary, who has been ordered to submit his report to the government within 30 days

The opposition joked these claims and questioned why the Mahayuti government is now taking this step after being in power for more than three years.
