America’s current National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has recently returned to his country from a tour of India. He said on Friday that the state India-US relations are at today is an important achievement of the Biden administration. He also admitted that there were ups and downs in relations with India, which also included the issue of an alleged conspiracy to assassinate an American citizen.
India-US relations Achievements of Biden government
Sullivan told the media during a roundtable in the Roosevelt Room of the White House, “I think the US-India relationship is where it is today is an important achievement of this (Biden) administration. In the (Indo-Pacific) region “We are leaving the overall state of relations and integration between our allies and partners to the next administration.”
Let us tell you that Sullivan returned to America from New Delhi earlier this week. During his visit to India, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
“The case of Pannu’s alleged murder should continue further.”
He denied any role of America in regime change in Bangladesh. Sullivan expressed hope that the case of alleged attempt to assassinate Khalistani extremist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu will continue even during the new US government. The US NSA said in response to a question, “We had to move forward after the fact that an attempt was made to assassinate an American citizen, we have worked on it.”
On the ups and downs in India-US relations in the last four years, Sullivan said that in any relationship, in any friendship, there will be disagreements on issues of trade and economics, or on the wording of the G20 declaration, and we have to find compromise. One has to work honestly to do it and come up with solutions. Sullivan said that I would say that the relationship between the two countries has actually gone from strength to strength over the last four years.
