BCCI, Major Rule Change for IPL 2025: The Indian Cricket Board (Indian Cricket Team) can lift the ban on hitting saliva on the ball in this session of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) starting on 22 March. This proposal has been discussed in detail in BCCI and it will be placed in front of the captains of all the teams of IPL in Mumbai on Thursday. The International Cricket Council had banned the old trend of saliva to shine the ball as a precaution during the Korona epidemic. The ICC made the ban permanent in 2022. The IPL also included this ban in the conditions of playing the ban after the Korona epidemic, but the IPL guidelines are beyond the jurisdiction of the ICC. (BCCI Contemplates Lifting Saliva Ban)
A BCCI official told PTI, “It was common to have saliva on the ball before Corona. Now there is no danger of corona, so there is no harm in lifting the ban on the ball on the ball in the IPL.”
He said, “We understand that it has a widespread impact on the red ball cricket and it also helps the bowlers in the format of the white ball.” It should be allowed in IPL. Let’s see what the captain decides tomorrow. ”
During the ICC Champions Trophy, India’s veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami said that there is a need to put saliva on the ball or else it will be completely in favor of the batsmen. It was also supported by Vernon Philander of South Africa and Tim Southee of New Zealand.
DRS can be used for ball height and off-side wide
The IPL is thinking about approved the use of DRS for height wide and off-stump wide. The official said, “The hawk will be used to decide about the wide ball outside the height wide and off-stump. If the field umpire has given the wide ball according to the height, then the team will be allowed to review. If the team feels that the ball was not sufficient for the wide then they can take DRS.”
