Suraj Barjatya has finally made his OTT debut with the romantic drama series Bada Karega. In the promotion of her series, the film maker recently called himself a ‘selfish director’ in an interview with Komal Nahata on YouTube channel game changers and remembered her days to make actresses cry in the early days of her career. During the conversation, when the host asked if he once got angry in real life, Suraj remembered how he used to be a little rud at the beginning of his career.
Suraj said, “When I started my career, I had made many heroines cry. You can ask Bhagyashree. I used to scream. Over time I realized that the work is where there is love and peace. It is a lot of preparation. It takes me five years- because when I am on the set, I just want to create, not to improve. ”
Suraj says that he is a ‘selfish’ director
When Suraj was asked whether this is the reason why there are long breaks between his films, the film maker admitted that this was a reason and he said, “I am very selfish as a director because I have not started till then Wanting until I get ready. This has been my vision since I started, Sangam, Bobby- then you are very prepared I do not pay attention to the numbers.
Suraj said, I do not even follow the choreographer blindly. I want everything in writing. I am not a visual director like Sanjay Leela Bhansali- he is a master. Nor is I like Mani Ratnam. I am originally a storyteller, so I do not think visually. My vision is more story oriented. This is the reason why my process takes time. “
Suraj Barjatya’s first film and recent project
The film maker entered the world of direction from Bhagyashree and Salman Khan’s film Maine Pyar Kiya. The film achieved great success at the box office. After this, he directed some more successful films, including Hum Aapke Hain Kaun .., Hum Saath Saath, Marriage, and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Currently, he has made OTT debut with Sonyliv’s series Bada Nam Karega.
